I wrote what I thought was a terrific piece before thanksgiving and tried to post it to my blog but I had forgotten all my info. for logging onto my own site! Say that has never happened to you! I am organized in some ways and in others - not so. Well since I am posting today it means I found my password but I am afraid the former inspiration is gone.
Thanksgiving was wonderful even though I didn't cook a turkey for the first time in 38 years and the whole family didn't come to my house! I was so proud of the way the family pulled together to make this one of the best thanksgivings yet! Thank you to Mark and Melissa for hosting the event and as you found out - it is more than just cooking the Turkey - it's cleaning (before and after), organizing and planning. You did a masterful job. And a big thanks to all you girls who cooked such yummy dishes. It was so fun to be together and for once not have to worry if the gravy was going to be lumpy or wondering as we urged everyone to the table if I had left the cranberry sauce out in the garage!
One of my favorite memories will be seeing 10 of my grandchildren sitting around the table together becoming reverent and quiet as a prayer of thanksgiving was offered and as soon as the amen was sounded watching them dig into the feast! Another precious memory will be of a sleepy 5:30 am on the day after thanksgiving cuddling with 9 granchildren and watching "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" while their parents went Black Friday Shopping.
My wonderful family is my greatest reason to be thankful this year!
Love this Pauline. It was a great day and I think the start of a new tradition! We love our wonderful and crazy family so much and look forward to every family get together. CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND!!! Love you so very much! xoxo
